The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is one of the most important parts of the skull. Wearing away that protective coating between the two bones can create serious headaches and cause major problems.
Part of what I we as a dentists revolves around making sure that the TMJ never becomes a problem. Often in a misaligned jaw, over time, the condyle (a small jutting part of the jaw) rubs up against the meniscus (a bowl-shaped opening in the temple), which causes a great deal of pain.
If you think you may have problems with your TMJ, you should contact a dentist, like us, right away.
